Default A tripp to san francisco

Hello ladies and gentleman ,

My wife and i are going to san francisco this weekend from fri 2/13 till tuesday 2/17 unfortunatly the weather seems to be on the bad side with rain on everyday ....i was going to change my flight but it will coast to much for the change .Therefore we will have to make the best out of our tripp...I have a couple of questions and hopefully i could get some good replys.

Is eveything in fichermans warf closed when it rains , like the walk you take down the pier where they serve food outside and stores ?

is alcatraz still open if it rains ?

hope the weather has a change ....but who knows lol

Everything at Fisherman's Wharf is still open despite the rain. Im pretty sure Alcatraz is still open too.

Everything is open on Fishermans Wharf and Pier 39 including boat rides on the bay. Also cable cars are running. The weather will be cloudy with a chance of rain and daytime temps in the mid 50's according to the local SF Chronicle. Bring an umbrella .

By the way, boat rides out to Alcatraz are very popular and reservations are usually need - even in the winter when there are not so many tourists. There is also a bay cruise that goes around Alcatraz and under the Golden Gate bridge and there is usually no waiting for that ($18, the last time I had to take out of town friends to the usual SF tourist traps).

Not sure anyone goes to Wharf in any weather, except tourists

Would go to Ferry Bldg for far better grub...and would argue bar at Slanted Door offers as well-made, innovative drinks as any bar in SF...and post-5PM often has a mix of workers from the Financial Dt (across the street), as well as suburbanites and tourists

Everything is open when it rains, the scenery and the hilly streets just don't look nearly as beautiful.

Have dinner in North Beach. Have dinner at R & G Lounge in Chinatown. Ride the Cable Car from G. Square to Union Square. Go to a wine bar in the Marina District and walk to Crissy Field for views of the GGB and Alcatraz. There are so many "cool" restaurants and bars and lounges. Use...yelp.com for restaurants, clubs, bars, lounges etc. The Slanted Door is a good recommendation.

Enjoy!
