Since moving here almost 15 years ago I have found that most of the people that think and speak badly about Pittsburg haven't even been here lately, yet they continue to spread their bad attitudes and their negative comments about our community. Like any other city in California, or anywhere else for that matter, living in Pittsburg has it's good and it's bad points. Most of the people here are hard-working, honest people, so it really upsets me when I hear such negative comments from people, just like the ones posted by tawnywetzel.

My information is dated... it's been six years since I sold my Pittsburg home... my brother sold his Pleasant Hill home at the same time...

My 2000 sq ft home was a corner lot, double the size of my brothers and had a legal artist studio cottage in the back... I got 280k and my brother got 380k for his 1000 square feet 2 bedroom 1 bath 1948 Pleasant Hill Rancher... schools accounted for a big part of the difference.

I do agree with you, I NEVER had any trouble with my neighbors... but the neighborhood had trouble with transients that would follow the railroad tracks through town and commit petty theft...

I just feel crime is apart of the American life, the country is not set up for everyone to thrive and it starts with the mind states of the people in the country. I feel that you have to let your heart decide. If you are not sure of the area rent for a while to see if you and your family fit in.

And please America stop with all the statistics, and live.

I lived in Bay Point for two years, Pittsburg for 2 years, and Antioch for 5 years. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. IMO. Angry people all around. Crime. I wouldn't go back if the houses were free.
