San Francisco or Oakland Zoo (parking, expensive, kids)

Hello All:

I want to take my son to the zoo this weekend but I can't decide between the Oakland Zoo and the San Francisco Zoo. Which one do you think is better and why?

Oakland Zoo is better in many ways, but is well worth going to for the Sky Ride chairlift alone.

The SF zoo looks nice but always has too many people and the parking is terrible. The animals don't look well there either. But I like the grounds. Oakland zoo would be my preference.

I think the Oakland Zoo is far superior. Parking is better for one. The zoo and animals seems better kept and I think the exhibits are smaller..more manageable and less crowded. The SF Zoo always seems like a hassle.

Oakland Zoo is great for kids -- it's smaller and they will get to see everything without getting overtired and too cranky. It's got a great kids center and a petting zoo, too. Parking is easy and that chair lift ride is GREAT! Great views and a nice break to the action...
