I forgot to mention the built in dining room hutch and french doors separating the dining room from the living room... although many have been removed making it one large room.
Sounds like my house down to those AWFUL little windows that serve no purpose on the sides of the fireplace.... the way my house faces the sun comes into the windows in the afternoon and wrecks TV viewing....

I ended up putting decorative film likes look like stained glass on those windows.

Mine had real drapes with pull cords and a valence that matched the window trim... I guess they were not thinking of TV back in 1922.

My other house had little mini windows that opened... very good for ventilation and not much danger of anyone breaking in

Bay area housing is probably some of the most overinflated in the entire country. Homes in scummy Berkeley are not worth half a million. I'm sorry, they are worth $90,000 at best, probably less.

Investing in Bay area real estate is like throwing your money away.

I will take all the 90k Berkely homes you have to sell. The University creates tremendous demand for student, staff and faculty housing and that is a big part in keeping property prices high.

Same homes down the road in Richmond don't bring anywhere near Berkely prices.

Hell, I guess if you enjoy living with a homless popuilation that swarms the city like the black death, go right ahead...

...Live in Berkely...

...If you can even call that a life...
