Default Berryessa - only for retired people and vacationers?

Hi All,

I'm considering moving to Berryessa but I need to work and I don't telecommute. Does anyone live there and commute to a job? If so, where do you work and how long does your commute take? Thank you very much!

I'm confused. Do you mean the Berryessa district of San Jose? If so, it's 15 minutes or less from more jobs than you'll ever know what to do with.

Sorry about that--I mean Lake Berryessa in Napa County. It's waaay out there, and gorgeous country with lots of affordable houses, but I'm wondering if it's possible to commute daily to a job from there. Mapquest says it would take a little over an hour, but I'd like to hear from a resident what the road quality is like, etc, to see if it's really feasible. I'd love to hear what people have to say. Thank you!

Hey Michaelsa, I know and love the area. Its very appealing and I have spent much time in the surrounding hills as a young lad. I currently live in Humboldt but am trying to find a retirement place for my mother that I can develope. There is lots of affordable land and close to the lake for great times. Yes it can be way out there depending on your circum...
