Default Best Moving Company From Chicago to Downtown San Francisco + Price Range?

Can anyone suggest reasonable, trustworthy movers from Chicago to San Francisco?

So far I have an estimate visit booked with United Van Lines (one of the big ones that at least seems reputable).

I've done various searches online and there is so much mixed feelings for moving companies - even the same ones!

We're moving a two-bedroom Condo so it probably won't take a full truck as there are no appliances and we're also not taking any kitchen items (table/chairs/hutch). Plus we're dumping our old couch.

What price range should I look for? I've never done a long-distance move and want a fair price. I am also packing my own items as I'm just more comfortable with that.

Thanks much!

Default We have used Aaron's Reliable...they have been great.

Hello,

We have used Aaron's Reliable for around town moves, they are fantastic.
We have never moved out of state, but in conversation
with Ron I know they do handle out of town moves as well.
I do not know what they charge.
The number is (312) 491-9322 ask for Ron.

We used Wheaton Vanlines for our last cross-country move (Napa to Omaha) and it ran about 7K (and that was a discounted price). That included them packing for us (they also repacked things I had already packed which was annoying), loading the truck, driving and gas. They did a great job though...nothing broken and it was nice not to have to carry boxes myself for once. We had a small 2-bedroom flat.
