Big city life isn't for everyone. I have lived in big cities with far worse public transport and have visited some with better. Many big cities are completely dead after 5pm except for a 1-block radius of ''night life.'' San Francisco, based on its location, is able to provide not just city-activities but plenty more natural activities moreso than a lot of other big cities. If you don't like it, you don't have to move here, but have you ever considered, Amelia, that the simple fact that there are articles attempting to play devil's advocate with the many who love SF, simply means that there are many, many more who love the city? Articles like this really only reinforce that it is a great, lovable city. It doesn't come without it's faults, but it's a fun city to walk in, and it's a REALLY fun city to bike in. I'm sorry you hate it so much. lol

P.S. I can't comment on the previous poster who says you haven't even visited SF. I would assume you two have had dialogue back and forth on CD before, but I can't be sure. If it is true that you've never visited SF and you're attempting to slam it, I would feel REALLY bad for you. Really bad. I'm not going to assume though, but I would really hope that wasn't the case.

I don't hate it. However, a few of my criticisms overlap with some of the article author's observations regarding the rent a mob mentality of the radical component, and the general political atmosphere. I have additional criticisms (as well as compliments) beyond the article author's ones but lack time write now to write them out.

See her post, page 8 on the discussion about the dating scene in San Francisco for straight women... never been here, not planning to. It must be season of the weirdo trolls or something?

I think the sun-shiney days bring the trolls out of their moldy, dark caves. Go back I say! Git-git!
