Please don't confuse the 1% of loonies that protest "for" criminals as representative of Oakland.

18Montclair.
I find it interesting that see the Caucasian Berkeley/Rockridge type protesting for people like Mixon. Last protest I saw outside the courthouse against the Bart PD guy was all White eexcept for 1. Somehow that's not the image we remember.

Frankly, some people make careers out of protesting.

Crime is not on the rise in Oakland. Its actually down and fluctuates with the economy like everywhere else.

There is distrust of the police by the African American community not only in Oakland, but in many places.

Well lets just I don't even see .5% in other cities protesting for criminals. People don't tolerate it. Its unthinkable. There appears to be a tolerance level (reflecting the philosophical outlook of many of the citizens) in Oakland that I haven't seen anywhere else.

Actually its 100% Oakland.

LOL@ Orinda. That was desparate.

It must pain you to read that there is in fact a huge area of Oakland that is wealthy and it extends from one border of the city to the other. Sorry.

Excellent Point. Most of the rioters were Professional Protestors. There were free-palestine signs, free-tibet signs.

200 "Protesters" out of 410,000 people not even 1%, and there are more women willing to marry Scott Peterson, women not from Oakland, than those who protested the idiot who killed those cops so this whole troll shtick about oakland and it's criminal support is ridiculous.

Totally agree.

Im talking about the riots that took place immediately following the Oscar Grant Killing. It seemed like many of those protestors were they just to reak havoc and were more interested in Anarchy than anything else.

LOL that media sensationalized BS? There were about 150 People out there at the most. The news was desperate for that to turn out like the LA riots. They live for disasters to take place.
