Revised Percentages by # of households, Oakland still falls behind, barely beats Concord:

Quote:
Oakland 8,985 420,183 5.95%
Fremont 7,147 211,000 10%
Pleasanton 4,440 66,544 19%
Berkeley 3,757 102,743 8.36%
Concord 2,348 121,780 5.33%
Alameda 1,941 72,259 6.42%
Richmond 1,281 103,468 3.70%
Hayward 1,079 155,312 2.40%
There you go

Quote:
Here's Oakland compared to the 10 Safest Cities in California in 2 very impressive factors.
Misleading. Oakland still places 8th on the most dangerous cities list per FBI statistics:

Quote:
1) New Orleans, La. – 57 0r 64 per 100,000 people

2) St. Louis, Mo. – 47 per 100,000 people

3) Baltimore, Md. – 37 per 100,000 people

4) Birmingham, Ala. – 36 per 100,000 people

5) Jackson, Miss. – 36 per 100,000 people

6) Detroit, Mich. – 34 per 100,000 people

7) Baton Rouge, La. – 30 per 100,000 people

8) Oakland, Calif. – 29 per 100,000 people

9) Flint, Mich. – 28 per 100,000 people

10) Richmond, Calif. – 27 per 100,000 people

As a side note, its interesting that the most educated cities on that list (with the exception of Oakland) are republican strongholds in California. Almost all of them are located in Orange county. Interesting...

You make it sound as if there's something wrong with that. Is this classism, racism, partisanship or all of the above? Regardless, it's most unattractive.

Actually BayPretender makes it sound as if there's something wrong with NOT being conservative and in the OC(ick).

And stats prove that life for many of us who arent republican conservatives actually is great.

Contrary to the garbage Im sure is spewed into his ear day in day out by the corporate media.

Well, I'm white, born in San Diego, raised off-and-on (military family) in Orange County -- Newport Beach to be exact -- fiscally conservative, socially moderate and not a member of any party. My life's just fine too!

Ethnicity and political leanings should not, in this country especially, be any help or hindrance to having a fulfilling and enjoyable life.
