Who in their right mind would drive that far just to buy groceries?!?! We have from time to time gone to Target in Colma. (and in my eyes, although admittedly not everyone's, "pleasing setting" and "spacious parking" do not go together)

I suppose downtown SLO is similar to downtown SF in the sense that they are both downtowns. They are more similar than, say, SF is to the shopping strip in Colma that houses the above-mentioned Target.

hsw is a riot.. first off, there is a Draeger's in San Mateo, much closer to SF than Palo Alto, but the place is a ghost town. Most San Franciscans just eat out.. more per capita than anywhere else in the country in fact.
