Default Commute to Richmond from Castro Valley

Hi

Anybody have a brilliant way to get to Richmond from Castro Valley without getting stuck on the 880 near Emeryville for 20 minutes to 1/2 an hour?

Thanks,

Richard

That is actually still the 580 W.. the Eastshore is signed 80 E / 580 W in that stretch, because where it forks off, the 580 part goes to San Rafael and the 80 part goes all the way out to New York City.

I don't know of any good alternatives. You could try San Pablo Ave but I doubt very much that it would be any faster than the Eastshore Freeway. The alternative is - you knew I was going to say this, right? - BART..

BART.

Failing that, take 580 to 13, then either continue on to Ashby rejoining 80, or, jog down 24 to MLK, then to Ashby to 80.

Time it doing what I suggested vs the maze. It may or may not save time, but at least it's consistent.
