Youth in Oakland and Richmond popping e pills while carrying guns.
It seems the latest trend in the bay area for most inner city youth is to pop e pills and then go out and pop there pistols.

The effects of ecstasy don't bode too well for thugish behavior. A bunch of emotional thugs running around chewing gum while getting distracted by moving lights is just a hilarious sight.

Very true. It's used by people in just about every scene and is not specific to ghetto or poor neighborhoods. There are just as many rich kids in college/high school doing it.

Ecstasy is not relegated to the trance scene anymore and is often used at hip hop and rock clubs.

Yeah it's a bit different. I'm only 22 but when I was in high school it was still a trance/techno oriented drug.

Yeah ecstasy is pretty prevalent these days...on the west coast at least. I know that some places, such as New Mexico and Arizona, have basically zero ecstasy.
Also i saw an article linking ecstasy to a recent murder in Oakland, and now this thread...why are people making this connection between ecstasy and violence? Ecstasy is probably the least likely drug to ever make you a violent or hateful person. There's a reason why people started taking it at raves...in a nutshell, MDMA/ecstasy makes you love everyone and everything around you, even if you've never met them before. I think People committing crime on ecstasy is more a function of it's prevalence in the Bay Area, and the frequency with which some people use it...including those who are already likely to shoot people. A lot of ecstasy is cut with other substances or drugs though, sometimes meth/speed...in that case i guess it could be a problem of sorts with some people.

In the hood it's probably cut with meth. Which would explain the oddity of Xin' and shooting.
