Since when was it "human nature" to break into peoples stuff?
Those "bull**** rules" your talking about mark the difference between civilization and barbarism.
If you don't agree with societies rules you are free to go live in the jungle where its every man for himself. Have a nice trip.

he said he walks through the ville(projects) all the time with no problems. Probably blends in with the residents. and he thinks being a victim of crime is funny and thinks laws are bs rules impeding (animal) "instinct". And with the name e14 (east 14th?) too boot. EXACTLY what I am talking about when I talk about why people go to SF to see a ball game instead. If even 10% of Oakland has an attitude like this, than what the heck is the point of going out there?

LOL Norcal "Dude" admits he cares what white people think about him. He is a Minstrel aiming to please whites in order to not be associated with "Ghetto Trash". Why would anybody care what any group thinks about them. What a pathetic uncle tom. He thinks because his skin is black he's a black person so that gives him a pass to trash other blacks on a lower socioeconomic scale.
Then he has the nerve to use a MLK speech as if that validates his blackness. What a joke.

Crime being "a construct of people trying to control each other's actions" is such a ridiculous statement I'm surprised this guy has the mental capacity to use a keyboard.

Sure I care about what whites think of me. I would be a fool not to. I care what my grandmother from Italy thinks of me, some of my best friends, co-workers, my bosses, neighbors and half of my church. If i did not care about what they thought of me, well I would be some one like you. Some one incapable of understanding that how you behave not only reflects on yourself and the family that raised you (which I might add you are doing a terrible job of doing) but your community and people as a whole.
The only people I aim to please are my family, friends, community, and myself. If some of those people happen to be white, so what?
Of course I don't want to be associated with ghetto trash. I was not raised in a ghetto, neither were my parents, and neither were my grand parents. Why would I want to associate myself with some place I am not from? My family and I have worked hard not to live in the type of city you live in. And never once have we whimpered like dogs playing the race card. I am damn proud of that.
No one is trashing anyone on a lower socioeconomic scale. It is really just me pointing out the obvious which is there is a large criminal element around the stadium which ruins the atmosphere. It is you turning this into a race baiting thread (i know we all are surprised, angry self proclaimed 'boy' turns another discussion racial ) with multiple incidents of name calling because you don't agree with some one.
Behaving exactly as your name suggests, like little boy. So please stop with the accusations of self hate, because it is a apparent that the only one with self hate is you, and its not rubbing off on anyone else. The only joke, is the childish nonsense you choose to type. No one is agreeing with your childish rants nor do we appreciate the fact that you keep trying to change the subject.

the area arund the coliseum is primarily industrial/warehouse.... leading into the airport/Alameda/San Leandro.
I guess that's why so many people are afraid to use the Oakland Airport. And I can tell you've never been to a game in Chicago.
Let's give it a rest.

Yea if you go west. But anyone with a brain knows if you go east, ie where the bart station sits and beyond, you are in east Oakland. Do us a favor and the next time you make one of your yearly trips to a game, and take bart, look to your left (if going southbound on bart/look right if going north bound) when you see the adjacent homes and neighborhoods, think of me and remember, that is residential neighborhood in east oakland. The fact that I need to tell you this makes me wonder if it is YOU who has ever been there. Try getting an idea of the whole area, not just from a bart train or the stadium parking lot. I know the area well because I was foolish enough to try and park for free at the bart station. Last time I take that advise.(One of the thing Oaklanders love to point out is how much cheaper watching a game in Oakland is vs SF) Gotta cruz through a gritty neighborhood of international just to get there. With some really sketchy characters milling about.
And what you think you know and what you really know are obviously two different things. Ive been to many ball games in Chicago, including wrigley, comisky, and the new US cellular field. So just stop already. Trying to play guessing game with some one you have never met is just silly, and for the bay area being so "educated and cultured"(as 18montclair loves to point out) I can't figure out why so many people try do so. You guys end up emulating the very people you try to point out for being backward("hicks" is what they seem to call them). You need to accept the fact that some people view east Oakland as a dangerous ghetto unfit for sports venues rather than making pointless asinine assumptions about what color I am, where I am from or have lived or where I have seen a ball game, etc.
Try pointing out why Oakland deserves these sports venues and how they have shown they deserve them...try making a compelling argument. But something tells me I would be hard pressed even to get that, even from people born and raised in Oakland. Typical. All bark, no bite. All pride, no integrity. Seen it a thousand times coast to coast.

I know exactly where the Coliseum is and I know exactly what East Oakland is like. ALL of it. I'm from Oakland. East Oakland to be exact. I'm sure that means something to you.
I know how traffic flows on game days. The most direct freeway access is 880. I know that the same people you claim are afraid to venture to the Colisuem have no problems going to Warrior games -- at night!! I know those same people have no problem flying out of and parking at OAK. I know those same people have no problems tying up BART trying to go to the games. I know that safety is not the reason the A's struggle with attendence. You don't like Oakland?? Live someplace else. You don't live in Oakland. Problem solved.
For the record, I could care less what color you are. I don't know what that has to do with this thread. Does Oakland have a crime problem? Yep. Does it have anything to do with what we were discussing? No. You might want to review some local and baseball history when making your analysis of the attendence patterns for the Oakland A's. Then maybe you can contribute something meaningfull to the discussion. I don't know why someone would send such time trying to be rude, condescending and abrasive on a message board. And that speaks to your character, far more than any of your comments speak to Oakland's.

Yea it means I have an explanation for your rude attitude, for starters. If you are from East Oakland why do you pretend like there is no adjacent neighborhood to the stadium can you not see it?

Did you go to Oakland public schools as well? Tell me where, in any of my posts where I said it was too dangerous to attend a game. I simply noted that the poor neighborhood, criminal element around the stadium and the ghetto nature of the area. No one is going to go watch a ballgame in that neighborhood and environment when you can go to SF and enjoy a perfect baseball environment with what is rated to be one of the best stadiums in the country.
It is nearly the exact same reason no one goes to raiders games. Not worth it when the 49ers are right across the bay. The only reason people go to the warriors games is because it is the only show in town. Same as the reason sharks games sell out. The warriors sold just as many tickets in SF as they do in Oakland and would sell just as many tickets if they were in San Jose. They have no competition in their market. If the warriors had a team playing in SF like the clippers have the lakers in LA, they would have a huge attendance problem.

Why do you keep bringing up Oakland airport like it is some how relevant. The airport is a mile west down hegenberger on a completely secure facility, with opd, tsa, alameda sherriffs, fbi, atf , nsa and other law enforcement agencies present. Not to mention not located near any residential neighborhoods. Totally irrelevant. And of course people tie up bart, its how you get the hell out of east oakland if you do not drive there.

Again and for the last time, no one is saying an A's game is not safe. Or that that is the reason they struggle to fill in seats. The A's struggle for attendance because the they play in a ghetto, the stadium sucks, and the fans are fair weather fans who don't even fill up the seats for a play off game.
Observing for the past 13 years, I can't say impressed is the word I would use.
Done.

Thank god, because quite frankly the race baiting gets old, and I have no idea why city boy brought it up to begin with. But don't sit here and pretend you were not trying to play guessing game with your childish 'you've never been to a ball game in chicago' nonsense. So spare me the self righteous 'I dont care what color you are'.

I don't know what that has to do with this thread.

Honestly, neither do I, but if some one who can't even see me calls me white, they should expect to be corrected. That kind of thing is just low class.

Wow some one from Oakland who actually took off the rose colored glasses, congrats.

I beg to differ, the crime and terrible atmosphere of the city have a direct correlation with a team who is competing with another team in the same market. The masses will always choose a better product, which is what the giants offer. I don't see why that is so hard for you, or Oakland cheerleaders to understand. Do you think the A's are trying to move because Oakland is a strong market? No they are moving because the market is terrible.

And you might want to use your noggin and take your own advise before looking foolish.
MLB Attendance - Major League Baseball Attendance - ESPN
Sorry buddy every year this decade the Giants have out done the A's, and the A's have had 7 out of the 10 seasons that were winning seasons. 2006, the year they got a shot at the pennant, their best year, they were 26th out of 30 in attendance. Mean while the giants had a terrible season and were 7th.
In fact if you look at these you can see the Giants almost every year are in the top 10 with 2008 being the only year they didnt make top 10. They were 11. The A's at best were 17th. They were not even at the top half, at their best.
Sorry but when a team is one of the last standing 4 teams in the play offs that year and they do that pathetic in attendance, it is a no brainer. The market is **** poor. So do us all a favor and why don't you take the time to soak in the stats and the history unless you need me to provide more stats for you which I gladly will.
