Default How come no one in the North Bay seems to know what good sushi is?

Sakura and Osake blow... BIG TIME.

Hana in Rohnert Park <333333

I'm not saying that people aren't entitled to their opinion; it's just very frustrating that people judge a sushi restaurant on how much sauce is smothered on their fattening American Dragon Roll rather than freshness and quality of the fish and rice (most easily determined by eating nigiri).

If you are happy with fancy rolls smothered in sauce, you're going to be happy anywhere.

If you want the finest fish in town and delicious authentic sushi made by Japanese chefs trained in Japan, you go to Hana in RP. =)

Other good places in Sonoma County:
- Sushi Tozai
- Toyo
- Gohan

Decent:
- Yao-Kiku (great fish and everything, but the waitress lies, the sushi chef doesn't know English--He doesn't speak Japanese either--, and the owner is a major jerk)

Bad:
- Tex Wasabi
- Sushi Hana
- Sakura
- Jojo
- Sapporo
- Kyoto
- Take
- Osake
- Sunnyside Tokyo

Sounds like you need to take it to yelp.

Probably due to the market. Not a critical mass of people who appreciate good sushi (and sashimi).

Conversely, there are apparently quite a few folks up there who like the big a___ rolls smothered in mayo and Sri Racha - LOL!

They might not know sushi but I hear the North Bay might know a thing or two about wine.

LOL

LOL. My favorite is lox and cream cheese on sushi... LOL. Isn't that what you go to a bagel shop for?
