Best Places to go in Napa/Sonoma
A group of us mid-30-somethings are headed to the wine country next month for a weekend of fun. We don't need lodging rec's, but we need suggestions for wineries to visit. We're open to both Napa & Sonoma and we'd prefer places that are visually beautiful, not necessarily the best wine, though that doesn't hurt. Which wineries are the best for scenery, lunch options, overall experience? The wine's important, but we're looking more for the "whole package."
Thanks in advance!

I should mention you'd want to bring food though... since though don't have a restaurant there. I'd use yelp.com to do your research. That's what I usually do.

I went in January and our last stop was Domaine Chandon for champagne tastings. Beautiful winery.

Kenwood winery is a great stop. The deli bars at Chateau St. Jean and Ledson are full of great picnic stuff. B.R. Cohn has great wine and olive oil as well as a few gold records on the walls.

Duckhorn is a very nice winery. Instead of crowding around a bar to taste, they actually have tables.
For Champagne, I would go to Domaine Carneros on 121. You can sit outside, drink your Champagne and enjoy a great view of the vineyards.
I just read your initial e-mail and you've probably already have taken your trip...oh well!
Neibaum Coppola is always fun to visit because they have a lot of movie memorabilia from Francis Ford Coppola's films.

I hear the Napa Wine Train is nice. I want to go at some point as they have special nights for parents with kids (they take care of your kids while you and hubby enjoy the gourmet meal). I've only been to Sonoma twice - once for my DD's CA mission project (we visited the mission there and some of the historic sites like General Vallejo's house) and the second time we went out there was for the Jazz festival to see Harry Connick Jr (absolutely fabulous!).

My friend's dad is a conductor on the Wine Train. I do hear that it is nice, but be aware that they do not actually stop at any of the wineries.
