To Montclair18 ignorance is bliss.

What? Theres no prostitutes and crackheads here! No Way! Its all wonderful and beautiful and "diverse" (their favorite word). Come share in the diversity of vagrants, crackheads, and random angry people Oakland is so famous for.

I don't recall reading a post from you acknowledging that there is anything to Oakland but this--unless its a backhanded insult. That denotes tremendous ignorance.

Lake Merritt is just not my cup of tea. Too gritty with sketchy people hanging around. You are the one getting offended montclair. If you like thats fine.

I don't see what any of those stats you provided has to do with Oaklands crime rate or its horrible public schools. Thanks for posting useless stats. All though I do find it odd that Oakland does have more people with bachelors degrees La, Sac, and santa Ana, yet has a higher crime rate. That is sad, you would figure a city with more educated people would not have as much crime.

And am I supposed to be impressed with a median earning of 45k a year in Oakland? I live in Granite bay, that amount is considered modest around these parts to say the least.

You mean Oakland is a city of contrasts? No that's something you apparently will never admit.

Well, for all the ghettoness you wish to revolve this conversation around, Oaklanders apparently make more money than most other cities-does that mean we're better than you?

LMAO

I would not figure. Its Oakland. The only city with worse crime is richmond. That just shows how seedy the city is even with large amounts of educated people.

Well if you consider a few thousand bucks a lot of money than I guess so. I made that type of money(a bit more actually) with in a year out of college, so again, not impressed.

So what, we are not talking neighborhoods, quit being irrelevant. The average person in granite bay makes about twice as much as the average person in Oakland.

Like I said, you will never admit that Oakland is a city of contrasts.

LOL

Yet its impressive enough to top all but 1 of California's 10 cities??? How strange...hmmm...must be Oakland's huge contrasts, you know, the ones you wont acknowledge cause doing so would delegitimize every single thing you've said thus far?

Actually Granite Bay's income level would only rank 5th among Oakland's neighborhoods.

The Oakland Hills makes Granite Bay look like a boring tiny hamlet in the middle of nowhere devoid of any cosmopolitanism whatsoever--wait a sec, it is both those things. Oops.

I lived in Granite Bay for a year but then moved to Arden Oaks off of Eastern and Arden because I felt too isolated in GB. Very glad I made that move.
