Check out Pacifica.
1)easy commute to Bayview,1 to 280 get off at Alemany to Industrial or Bay Shore.
2)2 br apartment available for probably around 1500 range
3)really quiet, good for afternoon sleeping for a 3rd shift schedule.
4)weekday breakfast on the beach when nobody else is there
5)close enough to SF for quick trips to the city.
The downside is fog in the northern part of Pacifica. The southern part, after the freeway ends, gets a lot more sun.

Wow looking at the map its quite close to the beach. I was also thinking, the fog may not be TOO bad, since sleeping in the late afternoon, fog may help haha.
I'll do some more research, in crime and things like that. Its a bit off from the other cities, but I'll stop by there too.

Take a second look at Brisbane. They have built some nice places there recently, but its true- it is right by SFO. Also consider Colma and Daly City. Its compact, but well established with families. On second thought- if your friend is single, doesn't she really want to try living in SF once?

Very true. But SF seems to be like living in Downtown LA. Very busy, no quiet time, plus the streets are very narrow! haha. Last week we went (got there around 2 am) and was near Pier 39 and the Financial District there were drunks all over (I kind of wanted to get out the car and join them haha) seems like there are a few bars and clubs around, which is nice. Its nice to have the scene, but not live near it if you know what I mean.
Brisbane, I thought, would have been perfect but then we have the SFO....
Pacifica CA (California) ZIP codes, schools, jobs, demographics & more
I found this cool website that gives me a little bit of insights of the area. The great thing about SF is that its not all that big, every city is pretty much within 20 miles. So I will have a chance to check each one of them out!

So where can she stay in SF that can avoid:
1. Airports
2. Bad fog and wind (I understand it can only be avoided to some extent)
3. Bad crime.

Actually, Burlingame has decent 2-bedroom apartments available for $1500. And it doesn't have airplane noise (or extremely rarely ever does), very rarely gets any fog and has much less wind than places like San Bruno, and it is extremely safe. The only noise issue at all would be from the Caltrain, and it really is not much of an issue unless you live right next to the tracks by one of the stations.

Brisbane doesn't get airport noise. I lived in South San Francisco for a year and a half and I was right under the flight path - this was at El Camino Real / Country Club Dr. The planes go northwest from there over Daly City. Brisbane is spared. Very cute little town, and very small.

^^^ my only concern with fog is driving. Don't get me wrong she's a great driver, but if you can't see ahead of you, it makes it tough to drive haha.
