Bullying in Palo Alto schools
We are looking to move into the Palo Alto area from Chicago. Someone I talked to mentioned that some of the pricier towns in the Bay Area have issues of bullying in schools. Do you know if that is an issue with Palo Alto schools? And if so which ones in PA?

Not sure how anybody would know this. Every school can have a bully or two. Its' not specific to a particular city. Spoiled rich kids can pick on less fortunate or vice versa.

Palo Alto is one of the snobbiest places in the Bay, but that doesn't grant immunity to bully's just like any other district.
Half Moon Bay's rich kids scream racist remarks at Mexicans in Redwood City football games, for example.
Rich kids are no different than poor.

You need to be a bit more precise in describing what you mean. Who did you hear is doing the bullying? Which schools? High schools?
I'm still trying to figure out why kids at Palo Alto's Gunn HS, a place where the privileged send their kids, are committing suicide by jumping in front of trains.

Thanks all for the responses.
@CB - I am not worried about the one offs. I am more concerned about a larger incidence of them.
@Alexus - thats all I heard. My kids are in elementary, so I am only concerned about elementary. particularly - Juana Briones, Palo Verde and Addison. Suicide? thats scary.

Seriously, teach your children to take up for themselves and be self confident. Bullies pick on other kids because they can...

My son and daughter went through the Palo Alto school system and both expressed a concern about the pressure of performing, not of dealing with bullies.
Many of the PA parents are over achievers and they expect the same from their kids. That's why there have been so many student suicides.
Can you imagine being a teen of average ability in that environment? What if a kid qualifies for entrance to San Jose State, while his parents graduated from Stanford or Princeton?
