Default New Job: Santa Clara to SF (Market/mision) daily commute...Help??

I am starting a new job in the city (Market/ Mission) and I live in Santa Clara. I am trying to figure out the best (fastest and most cost effective) way to get there each day. If anyone has any suggestions, I would be glad to hear them. I live close to Santa Clara Univ Caltrain station, and need to end up at One Market bldg. Thanks Dodoinfo

Get a monthly Caltrain ticket good for unlimited rides each month. It's cheaper than paying per ride.

looked into that but Bart is super expensive....unless I am mising something. Caltrain $159/ month SC to Milbrae, Bart 8.50/ day milbrae - embarcadero.

If I take caltrain SC to SF $205/ month + $50 Muni pass total.

Is there anyplace to buy discount tickets for either of these?

Why not just stay on Caltrain until the 4th st station?
Then either walk or take the Muni train N line (is it the 'N'?)
Less expensive I would guess than the BART option.

As noted, Caltrain, then the appropriate Muni downtown loop bus.
