Smile Foster City - is it very windy?

We are debating between Palo Alto and Foster City - primarily due to higher rental costs in PA.

I get the sense that Foster City (east of 101) is generally more windier and colder than other areas in the peninsula (like Palo Alto). Is that true? If so, how much cooler are we talking about?

Regards,
Aashish

Ask the sailboarding folks. The little bay just north of the San Mateo bridge is a very popular spot for them. There is a gap in the coastal foothills that hiway 92 snakes through. It's definitely one of the breezier places in the bay area.

Foster City is windier than PA but not as windy as SSF or San Bruno.

It typically has temps in the 70s in summer during the day.

I've found it to be pretty windy. But very sundrenched.

I like that sort of weather.

Default Windy Foster City

Yes it does blow pretty good here sometimes as it juts out into the Bay. But as for temps its not really any colder, and theres very little fog. Quite a bit different neighborhood feel from PA however............(much newer and less eclectic suburban landscape)...............
