This is how racially "sick" the SF Bay area is
I am mixed (2/3white/1/3black), my wife is a beautiful light skinned Filipina. It was a beautiful New Years eve on the embarcadero getting ready to watch fireworks. We kind of stood under this brightly lit grassy area without many people around us. Everybody was looking at us. Asians and Whites especially where giving disgusted looks all throughout the night. Some even walked away in anger. When the count down happened and we hit 0, all you heard where a very few whoos and yeahs... There where literally about 1000 people just within eye sight of us. One girl yelled out; "come on San Francisco what's wrong with you". Still silence. They looked at us and went on their merry way.
Now why would all these people give a crap about little old us on such a festive evening? Did we ruin their idea of the perfect (white/asian SF) Why would we care to notice the quite frightening and numerous looks of disgust aimed at us way past the three second rule. We don't do that. It was forced upon us whether we liked it or not.
You can cry mob mentality or whatever, but this is the liberal heartland of America. People in San Francisco emphasize practicing tolerance. This tolerance however is for some and not others. The newest, perverted social abomination which has emerged in this soup that is San Francisco is most troubleing. A strange new system of vitriol apartheid and isolation of certain groups. This awkward new social clusterfck isn't brought up in the media, because how could anyone believe San Francisco could be intolerant of "anything". It's diverse, so shut up says everyone. The former Yugoslavia was diverse to, and "they" all looked the same.

I have a hard time believing that people were staring at you simply because ur a biracial couple. The Bay Area has a higher percentage of biracial people than pretty much anywhere in the US.
Maybe ur clothes were tacky?

Why didn't you strike up a conversation with any of the people? See if your perception was misplaced.
How do you know for instance that they weren't a few bus loads of people from the Society for the Terminally Ill, all from central NJ? Maybe the rest were tourists from Mississippi, West Virginia, South Carolina, Oklahoma, or Orange county, CA?

I really don't believe this BS for one second at all. My mom's side of the family is all Filipino and they've married whites, mexicans, and blacks and never once had anyone had an issue with their race. All born and raised and still live in the SF Bay Area. And why would you just decide to share this story with us now?

Agreed. Was your girlfriend dressed up like a sl*t? Did you look like a complete dumb*ss? Were you wearing toolish outfits? Are you ugly? Seriously, OP, if none of the above are it, then my guess is that you're the one who's too self-conscious about it and creating this scenario for yourself. I hate to be hard on you, but you'll learn that people really and truly don't care about you. It's highly unlikely that anyone thought about you or your girlfriend for a second. Sorry.

Out of the blue, you log in on October 22 to complain about something that supposedly happened on NYE?
It just doesn't sound right.
