Default help needed: reach mountain view from SF Intl. Airport

Hi all,

I'm new to this forum as I'm from Italy and the next week I'll be in SF.
I need to reach mountain view from the San Francisco Intl. Airport and I found that using a taxi from SF to mountain view could not be so cheap because San Francisco taxis are authorized to charge 1.5 times the meter reading when driving to Palo Alto and vicinity.
So I guess if someone can give me an hint about reaching Mountain View (which I suppose is near to Palo Alto) using cheaper method.

I read that y calling one of the Peninsula taxi companies to come get you (e.g. Yellow Cab and/or Computer Cab, which can be reached from the airport by dialing 1-888-512-1234) at the airport can be considerably cheaper.

I'm guessing if it's true and is feasible.

Someone can help me, please?

Thank you
Luca

If you want door-to-door service, you can give SuperShuttle a try:

SUPERSHUTTLE - Airport Shuttle | Airport Transfer | LAX SFO DEN PHX DFW TPA JFK BWI IAD SAN DCA SMF MCI IAH LGA MSP EWR AUS SNA HOU BUR DAL OAK BNA ONT LGB RDU SJC AZA ISP PTP PIE CDG ORY BVA Airports

You'll share the shuttle with 1-3 other parties, but it will probably run you less than $40 for the trip. Otherwise, you can take BART from the airport to the Millbrae station and then take Caltrain down to Mountain View. You should check the train schedules if you are coming in during the evening as the trains run less frequently during the evening hours.

The cheapest would be Sam Trans and VTA busses (airport / El Camino bus, then pick up main line El Camino busses).

Next cheapest would be bus to Cal Train then Cal Train.

Next cheapest would be BART to Caltrain, then Caltrain.

Private transpo next cheapeast.
