Oakland Mayor Owes $239K in Back Taxes
Mayor Dellums, wife owe $239K in back taxes
Ron Dellums Salary - $180,000 Per Year
Ron Dellums Overdue Tax Bill - $239,000
The irony of a neo-communist raising taxes and fees on everyone else while
cheating on his own - Priceless

$239K in unpaid taxes? Nothing serious. Just an honest mistake.

Even worse, the Mayor doesn't even own a home the IRS can lien.... he owns no property in Oakland... mainly because he's gonna get his tushy out of here as soon as he can.
I have no idea why these idiots elected that man. I knew he was going to be a HUGE mistake when he got off that plane and announced he was going to say no to the offer of running, but couldn't say no.
Pretty much sums up his whole mayoral career.

The voice of reason. There's sanity still left in Oakland.

I would like a wheeler and dealer to replace him. Someone like De La Fuente.

I never liked him as Mayor one bit. He seems really absent minded and oblivious and I really wanted him to succeed. It like he was a lame duck from day one.

Why did you post this like it's major news? It's politics, most are corrupt in some way. Oh that's right you're obsessed with trying to find negatives about Oakland.

We need someone who is very pro business. Oakland has, and always will have a large underclass who do nothing but feed off the government teat. Without a large business base to get taxes from in the form of retail sales or business taxes, there's no money to prop up our underclass.
Hence the crime, the drugs, the crummy schools -- all the bad Oakland has to offer.
I know no one likes to pay taxes, but tax dollars fund our city's, state and country's life. And, yes, I know that throwing money at Oakland's problems won't make them magically get better... but throwing some at the right things while rooting out the bad might make it little better.
