Question Vallejo neighborhood?

I am considering renting a home in west Vallejo, just off of Tennessee & Wilson, north of downtown. Is this an OK neighborhood--crime & noise-wise?

I've only driven through. There are some cute old homes in the area but also a lot of apartment buildings. I can't comment on noise and crime much because I just haven't spent time. I did see an apartment complex/condo with a fenced in yard and someone who looked like they were up to little good climbing the fence into the apartment, lol, but that's the extent to my own experiences around there.

Vallejo has an incredibly antiquated crime map on the city's webpage:

New Page 2

The neighborhood you'll be interested in researching is in the 603. See if that helps and compare it to the better Vallejo neighborhoods and the more notorious bad neighborhoods and maybe help get a feel for where your neighborhood might fit in and what you might expect.

The best thing you can do is to just spend time in the day and at night, during a weekday and a week night and see what types of people are active; maybe knock on a few doors and talk to your neighbors - they'll often times be brutally honest about the conditions you're contemplating.

Good luck.

Default that area is a mixed bag

Some beautiful house facing the water - but a big 1960's type housing project on Daniels can be a little dicey - I live in Vallejo - bought an older house last year in the Heritage District - i have had no problem.
