Default Driving Times - Napa to Walnut Creek

My husband and I are moving to the East bay for his job which will be in Walnut Creek. I am hoping to get a job in Napa Valley. We are looking to rent an apartment somewhere in between, and are wondering where is the best place to pick which is about halfway? I can't tell by mapquest what the REAL driving times are.

Also, my husband doesn't have a driver's license and has to use public transportation (bus and/or BART) so we have to take that into account in terms of me getting him to a nearby station.

Thanks in advance for any input/suggestions!

If your husband is working in downtown WC, there is a great free city shuttle that goes around the downtown to BART...

I have friends in Fairfield, and the one thing they have there is a bridge bus to BART, so he could catch that to BART to WC.... and Fairfield's not too far from Napa.... but it's not a very nice place.

You might want to look at Benicia...that would be about halfway between Walnut Creek and Napa, but BART doesn't have a route up that way. You don't say what line of work you are in but Napa Valley has a lot of wineries and tourism. While it is beautiful here, there is no big industry here. Also, the traffic getting out of Napa is horrible! You would probably do just as well by looking for a job in Walnut Creek or Concord. And Walnut Creek has a great downtown with a lot of shopping! Good luck in your journey!
