We are re-locating from India to USA( Cupertino, California) this December and would like to know if any one had similar situation.

1. My kid is in kindergartner in India, can she get kindergarten admission in public schools and continue her education here ? She is 5 years and 8 months old now and eligible for kindergarten admission for the 2010-2011 calender year, but we are re-locating in the middle of the session.
2. If she is not admitted to any public schools can she get admitted to private schools ?

If any one had similar experience please share your experience.

I'm sure she can be enrolled in public school mid-year, many children are.The only issue I can see is that if your "neighborhood" school is full she may have to go to another school in the district. That happens in my city quite often and can happen even if you started at the beginning of the year.

Kindergartens are very difficult to get into here.. they only open them for about a week out of the year, and many parents enroll their children at birth.. to get ahead of everyone else.

Your child is eligible to attend school after you are a resident of the district.(renting or owning in that district) If the home school for your address is full they will be sent to another school in the district. The current CA law is a child must be 5 by Dec. 2 to attend kindergarten so your child easily qualifies.
