Most of the San Jose are public schools are great, and have great potential friends and peers. There is little reason for private schools in much of the area.

I think it depends upon what you are looking for. Do you have a specific philosophy in mind?
I have plenty reason not to send my kids to public schools...but that's just me.
People here seem to really love them, though.
