Cupertino has some of the best, if not the best, public schools in the country.

By virtue of where you send your kids to school, you'll determine the population from which they will select their friends and from which they will find their peers.

I suggest giving a serious look at The Harker School (private).

Most of the San Jose are public schools are great, and have great potential friends and peers. There is little reason for private schools in much of the area.

I think it depends upon what you are looking for. Do you have a specific philosophy in mind?

I have plenty reason not to send my kids to public schools...but that's just me. People here seem to really love them, though.
