Hi, anyone know if there is a Koreatown or large Korean community in San Jose? What about Korean hair salons, fried chicken, churches, young professionals, etc.?

In Santa Clara on El Camino Real their is a high concentration of Korean markets and restaurants, not officially called Korea town though.

It's pretty big. San Jose, Sunnyvale, and Santa Clara have a lot of Korean people...also Fremont and Norwalk. As Hwy phantom said, most of the businesses are in Santa Clara.

There are a lot of hair salons on El Camino...never been to any though. Korean churches are all over the place. As for fried chicken:

B N Chicken - 2725 El Camino Real, Santa Clara
99 Chicken - 2781 El Camino Real, Santa Clara
Jang Mo Gip - 3148 El Camino Real, Santa Clara
BonChon Chicken - 572 E El Camino Real, Sunnyvale

I vote for 99 Chicken - KFC (Korean Fried Chicken) or Seoul Food (sorry about that, couldn't resist)!

Yes, El Camino Real in Santa Clara is the center for Korean businesses, including supermarkets (Hankook, Galleria Market, Kyoppo), restaurants of all sorts, automobile service, hair salons, insurance, banks, you name it.
