Hi Everyone,

I am looking for a job, and currently interviewing with a company in Pleasanton. I live very close to Cupertino, and can quickly get on to either 280 or 880 in just 5 minutes. How is the commute from west San Jose/ Cupertino to Pleasanton? As I have a small baby, I will not have the time for an extended daily commute. I mapped the distance between my home and the office and it looks like the commute will take about 45 minutes. Please let me know what your experience has been with this commute. Will I be going towards or away from traffic? Thanks so much!

If it is not during rush hour traffic it takes between 30 to 40 minutes but during rush hour I would say at least 1 hour.

Shouldn't be that bad as 280S doesn't get too backed up and that is reverse commute up to Pleasanton. Its longer, but staying on 280/680 might be quicker than 880 and getting off at Mission. I think 40 minutes is doable depending how long it takes you once you're off the highways.

Thanks so much for your feedback! It sounds like a doable commute then. Heck...it used to take me 30 minutes to get just to Sunnyvale during peak time..

You will not be in the commute direction generally, but there will be some slowdown going through east San Jose (roughly Capitol Expwy to Montague).
