Hello All,

I have a few questions on the Pleasanton area and would be glad to have any inputs from the folks here.

1. What are the identifiable neighborhoods in Pleasanton (example: Fremont has Ardenwood, Northgate, Centerville etc, San Jose has Evergreen, Almaden Valley etc)? If someone could point me to a map of the area with neighborhoods, that would be great.

2. When I looked through API scores and school rankings on various websites, the Pleasanton Unified School District ranks consistently high everywhere. If someone studied there or has their child there, if you could offer your opinion on the school district, that would be great.

3. We keep hearing Foundation issues in the Pleasanton area and Valley Trails and Val Vista areas are referred multiple times. Are other areas free of this issue or is a Foundation check mandatory if one is considering homes in Pleasanton?

Thanks much in advance.

I have clients that have researched and are moving from Willow Glen to Pleasanton. They say the schools are good, they are still close enough to work and the home prices are such that my girlfriend can quit working and stay home.

My folks were fine with the foundation issues in Willow Glen and probably won't inspect unless there are cracks or uneven floors. If it's something that you worry about, foundation reports normally run $500-600 but if it creates peace of mind then it's worth it.

Thanks RebekahOwen. We did have a great time driving around Pleasanton. Hopefully, our future home is there somewhere :-).
