If the Oakland A's do end up moving to San Jose, what would you like for them to be called? And hypothetically, did do want to rid of the A's name. I am sure you guys can come up with a name only unique to San Jose

They've been the Athletics in two cities before. Why change?

There's much better reasons to keep the team in Oakland and perhaps move it to Jack London Square and take advantage of the waterfront in the same way the Giants Stadium did.
The money is down here - athletics could dig into the corporate trough just like the giants do now (which is why the giants are so against the move).

It doesn't fit in with today's San Jose.

How does a name so generic fit (or not fit) anywhere at anytime?

So, praytell, what would? (Oh BTW, they've already stated that they would be called the San Jose A's, but go ahead and give us your take, for our amusement).

Diridon Station is a bad joke. The plans for the area look shiny, but don't amount to much in practice. Even as the downtown stop for Caltrain, ACE, and Capitol Corridor, as well as having VTA LRT, housing development, and the Shark Tank, it's a boring, underutilized station, surrounded by parking. I doubt bringing HSR, BART or the A's will change that.

Why, then, build a stadium there? No, it's a bad idea from the start.

It's a train station. How exciting is it supposed to be? It does, BTW, get an awful lot of use by commuters, weekenders, and Giants fans. Not to mention the VTA bus depot, that also gets plenty of use.
Anybody really think a new MLB ballpark right there wouldn't change anything? Just putting the San Jose Arena there didn't?
