I am relocating to San Jose with pretty short notice (job starts Monday) and I was hoping someone might have a suggestion on where I might find a short term rental (preferably month-to-month) so that I can just have a place until I can actually find a place out there. It doesn't necessarily have to be in that area but I would like to keep the commute under 30 minutes if possible without spending too much since its only temporary housing. And it will just be me so I could even survive in a studio for a few weeks. Also I was told to stay away from the east side. Does anyone have suggestions? Thank you in advance.

My wife and I lived at the St. Francis Arms in Sunnyvale for a year in 2006 when I was consulting in SV. They are corporate apartments, fully furnished including all dishes, bedding etc. All utilities are included and you get a free breakfast every morning. It has a nice pool and covered parking and is very clean and nice. It is also a good area convenient to everything.

They rent by the week, month, etc. We paid $2,100 /mo for a large 1BR unit. Bear in mind that this includes everything. We really enjoyed it there.
