Default Job help - Bay Area

Hi All

My wife and I recently moved from the UK and she is a fully qualified Optometrist. However !! the licence doesnt transfer over here and in order to do that job she would have to do another 4 yrs of study !

So she has been looking for other jobs using her skill as an Optom (she also has a degree in Human Biology and Masters in biomedical forensics!)

Most of the good jobs seem to be in Irvine and around LA :-( any idea of what the bay area is like for medical companies, she is looking at Medical Liaison or Lab type jobs?

Thanks as always

There is a fair amount of genetics/biochemical jobs around here. One of our friends who is a research chemist has worked at a couple different places in the South Bay and Peninsula. Message me offline if you want names of companies.

Does her immigration status permit employment? Her employer may need to request permission from Immigration.

Phew! You would not know how many professionals here on a visa don't realize that it doesn't cover their spouse.
