Default Moving to bay Area from New Jersey

Moving to bay area in couple months..
Please suggest good neighbourhood with few criteria.Santa Clara county short listed so far. But open to suggestions..

1-We plan to rent at first..reasonable rents for a family of 2 and 2 kids. Potentially buying a home in next few months accordingly.

2-Good school district with global mix of students. My daughter will be in 3rd grade and son just 3 yet.

3-Suggestions for elementary schools welcome as well ??

4-Any good Private/montessori school for 4yrs in the area ?

5- LAST but not the least, commutable distance to SF city. near train of metro station.

BIG THANKS IN ADVANCE..any insight regarding above would be a great help.

Regards,
Ginny

First, you need to define "reasonable rent".
That's key.
What's your upper limit?

It's 50 miles between San Francisco and San Jose and Caltrain is the commuter train - caltrain.com Some trains stop at every station and it takes a while to go the whole 50 miles. But there are express trains that stop at only 4 stations between SF and San Jose.

Click on "stations" for areas and neighborhoods around the different stations.
