Default Need help leasing a home in Mountain View

My friends are moving from Dallas to CA in May for his new job at Intel. They used to live in Palo Alto and love it there but are considering Mountain View because they should get more for their money. School district is not important. They do have 2 dogs, so something with a small yard would be necessary. They need a 2/2 single family home or town home in the $3000's. A 'hood with a cool vibe within walking distance of shops & restaurants would be ideal. Any thoughts on particular neighborhoods? She'll be out there searching from April 20-29 and wants to secure a place for early May.

If anyone can suggest a Realtor who is willing to work with someone who wants to lease, please direct message me. Thanks!

From my experience with finding a rental (two years ago), that you are on your own with Craigslist. It is really tough to find a rental here that allows any pets, just due to the rental demand. Landlords can find plenty of tenants that don't have animals, so many say no pets. Good luck.

I would suggest they look for homes/apts around Shoreline Blvd and Castro St. There are several neighborhoods there that are walking distance to downtown. I know most houses are listed online, but if you are lucky you can find a few houses to rent by just walking around.
