I'm not sure if that is true in general, but I have certainly seen this attitude toward homelessness, I suppose it may be the case in unemployment as well.

Wait.. I thought in Silicon Valley, "dress for success" means a ratty t-shirt, jeans, and a pair of flip flops .

I kid of course - the dress for success thing is a pretty cool idea - but I haven't heard of anyone doing it other than TMW.

Not surprising to me at all. In the business world, traditionally under-represented groups, such as women and minorities have lots of support groups. There are even networking specific groups at my company for all of these, but there don't seem to be many for white males. Why I don't argue that in the past, these groups hit a major glass ceiling, the pendulum seems to have swung too far in the other direction.
