Im looking for something for 1/4/2013, to have as a lease for 6 months. It can be a room, I really dont care. My budget is low(in the $650-850 /month range), and Im coming with a partner. I am having issues with craigslist because Im not local. Id rather move there having somewhere to stay. Its for an internship. I tried looking for rental placement services, but there really is nothing in my budget range. I thought maybe people that live there might have some ideas.

Room rentals are entirely done through craiglist. The placement services don't deal with that.

You should be able to secure a room if you put a deposit up front. that's what I did a couple years ago, moved here from Colorado and used Paypal to put a half-month's deposit. Then when I arrived, I paid the first month in person.

That's probably going to be you're only option. The rental market moves quickly here.
