I've recently returned to the South Bay and am looking for places to volunteer both my time and my money to that are making a difference for low income families and separately places that are making a difference for dogs/cats. Please share your experiences regarding any local South Bay organizations that you've been involved with and have found to be both well run and fiscally responsible
. Let me know what types of things they need now and on an ongoing basis.

Boys and Girls Clubs of Silicon Valley are usually looking for volunteers to help tutor kids after school. They are definately making a difference for lower income families by providing a safe place for their kids to go after school when Mom and Dad aren't home.
