Hi all,
We are family of 3 relocating to the bay area next month. I will be working in Sunnyvale near Moffett airfield. My wife plans to stay at home to take care of our 10 months old son. We have a budget of ~3K for renting a in a nice neighborhood but doesn't have to be a super good school district. I heard the traffic on 101/237 is quite bad and I hope to keep daily commute(one way) below 20mins. Which neighborhood/area do you suggest we start from?
Much thanks

Lots of nice apartment complexes along Middlefield Rd., between Moffett and south towards Whisman Rd. as well as some of the cross streets in the area. There is also an area called Whisman Station full of newer condos and apartments. This area is bounded by Middlefield, N. Whisman, Central Expressway and Hwy 237. Here's an example: Mountain View Apartments|Central Park At Whisman Station

There is also a VTA light rail station at Whisman Station that runs between Mountain View and San Jose. It also stops out in the middle of no where at Moffett Field. I don't know if they have shuttles from the VTA station to other areas of the airfield. All of these places are within 2 or 3 miles of the airfield. Don't know anything about the schools.
