Hi,

I am going on a first date in Pleasanton this weekend. I am new to California, recently moved here from NYC, so I am not familiar with the area. We are planning on going to dinner and there seem to be quite a few choices that I have found doing online research. We are looking for some place casual, with good food, I am not so concerned with price, just good food and good atmosphere.

Thank you!

Downtown Pleasanton has a wonderful selection of restaurants. It is a nice area to walk before or after dinner also, as the Downtown area is quaint.

I have always enjoyed Hap's Steakhouse:

There are some restaurants in Downtown Pleasanton which offer outdoor seating, which is nice for a date.

Haps is nice, but kind of pricey for a first date. I think Fontina would be a good choice.

Several friends have told me they liked it and it always has a good crowd.
There is also Forno Vecchio and Blue Agave. Blue Agave is bit pricey but I think it is the only 4 star place in Pleasanton. All of these are on Main St which is an easy stroll so you could just walk around a bit and see what you like.
A friend also likes Baci and said they had good food and would definitely go there again. It looks like it has a romantic atmosphere too.
Good luck

So, which restaurant did you pick, and how was it? (the restaurant, not the date ).
