Yes, Silicon Valley nightlife is rather dull for a large metro area.

My opinion is that it is because the area is full of techies. Also, it's because there are a lot of immigrants from other countries whose lives pretty much revolve around immediate and extended family.

i went to MV around 2000, and i wouldn't say its bs. they might have exaggerated it a little bit, but its definitely grounded in fact.
