I'm looking into the Avalon at Cahill Park apartments, so pretty much I'm wondering how safe that area is?
I'm somewhat drawn in by the area, because it seems as though I could get around without needing a car (I won't have one for 6 months to a year), so now its just about making sure I'd be safe there. How is the crime? How is the robbery? Is walking back from the train station at night a safe thing to do? Is the place as public transportation friendly as I'm thinking? You know, getting to groceries/haircut/etc or work (near Pruneyard Plaza in Campbell, Ca) easily by public transportation. |

To get from Diridon to the Pruneyard, you'd take VTA light rail to Bascom and then the 62 bus. You can get to anywhere from there, but there's not much around the station or downtown. I don't know why CA businesses haven't been able to get a foothold there.
My understanding is that this complex is very safe and quite expensive, and the neighborhood is all right if a little dead. After all, it's made up almost entirely of commuters.. ![]() |
