Santa Cruz
How is Santa Cruz?? Would it be a crime ridden place with illegal immigrants running rampant, drugs, bad schools????
Or is it a nice place with good school and low crime?

It's nowhere near San Francisco, for one thing.  This should go in the San Jose forum as it's closer geographically, though worlds apart philosophically. |

i graduated from ucsc i can give you details but sf is white trash/illegals on one half and yuppies/hippies/and college students on the other half. some schools are bad in the mexican areas in the white areas schools are better. high school is average. university is world class. and plenty of drugs to go around.

Santa Cruz has pretty neighborhoods, & neighborhoods to avoid at night. It's a small town, but big enough to have different sections like that. As for "illegal immigrants", there are many undocumented Mexicans, and I find most of them to be decent hardworking people; there are lots of immigrant families, so it's not just single men running around without values or roots. For me, the only irritants are homeless hippie white kids who panhandle downtown.

Don't you mean SC, not SF? Though I guess a few of those adjectives could apply to both...  For the record, I think Santa Cruz is a REALLY cool town, though I don't know enough to recommend it. |

It's a nice town. Don't go there unless you live there, because everyone hates outsiders.
