Anybody know what kind of fishing is done at Redwood City marina located on Seaport Ct ?
Is the fishing any good, what kinds of fish are caught, any useful information for a fisherman who would like to try it out if it's any good there.

Boy, is that a place I would not consume fish from. I lived on a boat a half a mile upstream from there for years. The industry at the port over the years polluted the place like nobody's business.

That being said, I've seen sand sharks and rays caught in the vicinity. Probably an occasional salmon during a run, but I doubt Redwood creek has produced a viable salmon fishery in forever.

I would imagine the levels of toxins have trailed off. There is not much active industry in that area any more. The worst thing is a pile of recycled items at the SIMS bulk port that repeatedly catches on fire.

I would think Redwood City could be a good place for jacksmelt, if you are interested in a relatively small fish like that.

I suppose a guy could get lucky & catch a Striped Bass there. We used Pileworms, or cut anchovies, some ji*s, etc.

It's been some years but we did a lot of our fishin' on the CA Delta, around Tracy & Stockton from shore mostly. Sometimes we fished the Sac River & channels, over close to Rio Vista.

We took the ol' class C motorhome, camped & fished along the Delta/Mendota concrete canal, from Tracy to Firebaugh (you can drive along the canal). We caught some nice Striped Bass & catfish. We released anything we weren't going to eat. Fished the San Joaquin River too, some nice catfish.

There were some bigg'un striped bass & catfish in the CA Aqueduct, mucho FUN...

We had many Fun times camping, fishing the San Luis O'Neill Forebay. Caught some nice stripers. One guy caught a 99lb sturgeon in 1989. That year a man from Soquel caught a 66lb+oz Striped Bass...

Have a Great Adventure...
