Good luck walking from Crossings to Covington. Having your kids ride their bikes to school probably isn't an option either. 3 miles + several busy streets along the way (e.g., San Antonio, El Camino). You'll be driving your kids to schools everyday.

they won't go to covington because of this, besides, most covington parents drive their kids, look at the line in the morning.

And most who kids who attend Bubb (in Cuesta Park) walk or ride their bikes.

If walking convenience is so important to you, I would think proximity to school would be your top priority. You may want to be close to a Target or nice restaurant...but how often will you go? With schools, you know are making 2X trips per day.

you may be correct about bubb, but there were no affordable rentals available at all in that neighborhood. Bubb's after school program was also full with a waiting list, making bubb a non-starter for us this year. I had to call the district and find out which school my kid would be placed in, and just because one finds a rental near bubb, does not put that child in bubb. While you may be correct on some accounts, in reality, it doesn't just work like this for people moving into the area.

we are pretty happy to have chosen The Crossings, not sure why you have a negative attitude about it. Los Altos district has said that the distance to Covington is not ideal and there is a new school planned down the road in the San Antonio/California area. This would certainly increase property values in the future, if anything, this area is a better-than-average-for-the-region investment.

Sorry didn't intend to be negative. You asked the forum for opinions and I offered mine.

I thought your earlier comment about (paraphrasing here) "at crossings, I can walk to everything...and at cuesta park, I need to get in a car to get to anything" was not quite accurate. Hence, my point about the schools.

If you're happy with your choice, great for you!
