Bingo. Parking blocking the sidewalk for six months would get a $300 ticket in most places. He is lucky they didn't tow his car and impound it. The OP seems to be deliberately avoiding mentioning what the ticket was really for.

The OP is a brand-new member posting a vague rant about a citation. Yep.

Basically, you abandoned it.

We thought we could leave our vehicles on our own property with no issues. Other car was on the drive way too. I had the keys with me out of country and my sister couldn't move my vehicle when she got back from east coast.

If your mom lives in an HOA, she probably had to register her car, or they know how many cars she has. Seeing a strange car there, never being moved, screams abandonment.

Besides, it's not like you couldn't have overnighted your keys to your sister so she could move it, or get your mail for you.

Chalk it up as a learning experience.

Actually, no. Probably a neighbor complained to the police. (My friend got cited for the same thing.) If they see a vehicle parked in the driveway, they can cite it. Obviously, they can't prove that it's inoperable at the time that they issue the ticket.

No HOA in this neighborhood. Just wanted to see if i can contest because I had no way of getting to the citation and try to fix the issue before getting the fine.

Yes definitely to your advice. Thanks. Citations, tickets are always lessons learned for me. My friends will try to do one way with parking car and I would say it's illegal and tickets can be given. They laugh in my face. Oh well.

Yeah exactly!
I kept trying to figure it out because we're all supposedly friendly with one another in this neighborhood. I read the other letters and the very first citation was just to move within i think 15 days to avoid fees. But we werent here after 2 months and our boarder didn't open our mails.
