I don't live in CA anymore, but I live in a state with serious drought. You can get a hand-held shower head and turn if off and on during showing. (You can take a longer shower that way, while still meeting the 25% reduction.)

I wonder what people with pools are going to do.

Well we pretty much made all the lifestyle changes starting last summer so it will be hard to cut back even more. However, for our lawn we are tearing out much of it and putting in drought tolerant plants following the Santa Clara Water District plan. Hopefully we'll earn the rebate but the main motivator is so our front yard still looks good with less water. It was a mess last summer. I don't think that will cut us down another 25%, though, b/c we pretty much let it go to a horrible dead color last summer by barely watering. Here's hoping, though.

In case anyone is interested, don't wait to start as it's a l-e-n-g-t-h-y process.

They seem to have them in many public places here...having said that, the pee handle never seems to even do enough to get the TP down.

I'm not changing anything.

80% of the water is being used by agriculture, 10% just being almonds. That's insane. You want the residential drop in the bucket to reduce 25%? Yeah...

When we stop growing almonds I'll consider it.

Agree, me neither. I refuse. The farmers are ripping us off and shipping water to China - trillions of gallons of water represented in grain exports. So I say....EFF THAT.

you are right, i heard 80% percent used by agriculture. if assumption is rest 20% used by public then, public has to completely stop using water and actually has to give back to system 5% worth of water to make the 25% conversation reality.

Seems to rain every week here in the Northeast and so tired of it. So far this spring it looks like the grass and weeds are loving it. We could use some dry weather here for a change. It's still chilly here.
