Here is the thing. The company my husband works for is willing to move us to San Jose, and pay our first months rent. Do you think on an assistant manager salary we could afford San Jose?

We are pretty simple people. We like to go out to eat, and go watch movies. We don't have to go out every night, or even every weekend. We have a daughter who is home schooled, so a school district isn't an issue.

I am working on selling It Works, and doing pretty well with that. I hope to be making 2K a month with that in the next few months (probably around the time we move) and hope to push on to making $6,000 a month by the end of the year.

What do you think?

I don't know what the rough estimation would be. I know it is hourly pay until he moves up another 2 spots. Currently he makes 2K a month in New Mexico. We assume that if the company is going to pay for first month rent they are planning on paying enough for us to pay rent every month... xD Thats all i really know at this point.

I assume that your husbands $2000/month is net pay. Your "job" is an mlm so while your might be making $2000/month now that can't last for ever you will run out of people to sign up. I hope your husband is getting a large pump in pay to come here because rent will take up all of his current pay and then some. Without a significant raise it isn't worth the move in my opinion.

You said, "I hope to be making 2K a month with that in the next few months (probably around the time we move) and hope to push on to making $6,000 a month by the end of the year."

I hope you're right about your expected future earnings but don't move with the assumption that you will be making that much money! That would be pure folly. Because the 2K that your husband makes will not be enough to support you and your family in the area. And you don't want to end up in a bad neighborhood because it's all you can afford.
Why do you want to move to San Jose? None of my business but just curious. I love New Mexico. Not sure what San Jose has to offer you except that it's close to the ocean which is a big deal if you love the ocean but other than that ..... ?????

This sounds like a disaster in the making. Sorry to break it to you, hon, but you got sucked into an mlm pyramid scheme. Dont feel bad, you are not the first and wont be the last. It would be incredibly foolish for you to make this move based on assumed earnings "down the road". Considering that most mlm participants (upwards of 90%) typically lose ALL of their money, you should probably be only budgeting for your husbands income...which will find you sharing a 2br apt with other people in an unsafe neighborhood. Your top priority right now should be untangling yourself from the pyramid scheme, developing marketable skillls that will help you and your husband double your income, and THEN considering moving to the bay (literally one of the most indemand and expensive places on the planet). Here is more info on the pyramid scheme you got sucked into and your likely fate if you continue...

https://m.reddit.com/r/askwomenadvic...ting_her_life/

Also, if this concept is new to you, google terms like "pyramid scheme" or "ponzi scheme" (named after charles ponzi, who pioneered this kind of scam).

Good luck! Getting out of these things can be like leaving a cult. Key thing is dont buy any more product, and empty the pile from your garage.

Also when i say "empty your garage" im not saying toss the product on the curb. If people are buying it, sell the rest of your backstock. Just dont buy more... typically, the person above you in the chain is pressuring the newbies into buying more product than they are selling. The "mark" winds up with no money and a garage full of amway products, mary kay makeup boxes, or tony robbins cds that nobody wants to buy.

Is "It Works" a Scam? - Lazy Man and Money

Above article goes into detail breaking down how the scam works. Correction: i stated above that over 90% of mlm participants lose money in the end. I was being conservative, the real number is 99.5%.
