It's a pretty disappointing system. I had a fix it ticket turn into a $510 affair over proof of registration...that was already registered and paid, but I couldn't fine the stub and the officer needed to respond to something. Had to go to the DMV and pay $20 for a copy (seriously...this can't be online?) I'd mailed the ticket and a copy of the registration in, but apparently there was a $25 fine...and apparently there'd been a court date I'd never heard about.

Plead guilty and paid the amount. Every year I give to the Alzheimer's research on my CA tax return. That's going to end for two years.

In the meantime, the drunk guy that totalled my Mercedes a couple of years ago with the vehicle he had stolen and then tried to run off is still under $10 in total restitution paid.

also on Jun / 2016, I received infraction of 100$ during my travel to LA in city of Torrance. Parking cop minion finds my car has no tag but misses the fact it was just purchased and had temporary paperwork on windshield from dealer while awaiting the tag from dmv (another corrupt place) and issue ticket on completely legitimate situation. F** a** did it while I parked outside my hotel and during midnight 3am sneaking around like pig. Later on I called em blasted and showed paperwork supporting then they still send me summon to court scheduled 7 hrs drive away for 100$ court hearing. My friend called cali chps are normally bbbb which i dont know what it exactly means but certainly not a nice word 4 sure.

That's a perfect situation for Trial By Written Declaration.

Should be an easy dismissal if you submit that corroborating paperwork, and cite the relevant vehicle code sections. You should look up the specifics, but that section has some wording that it does not apply if the vehicle registration fees have been paid but tags not yet received by DMV.
