If it is like the lobster in NE, it is only available for a few summer months. It comes off a Sysco truck, by way of whoknowswhere.
I do not think it will be affecting the crab supply in SF much.

McDonald's has its own independent procurement system and does not use Sysco.

About 75% of the canned and packaged crab meat consumed in the US is produced in Southeast Asia.

On specialty items, McDonald's consumption can represent as much as 10-15% of total consumption of a foodstuff.

Probably because San Jose people aren't into paying twice the price for the same quality of food as people in Frisco are, just because it's labeled "organic" and "artisanal" or some bogus foodie bait **** like that.

For me it also has to be whole pieces not left over crab that somehow got reconstituted like "pink slime". The food manufactures probably know to just make cheap crab cakes with that stuff.

This claim seems to be untrue, do you have a source for this? Pork :: McDonalds.co.uk
